János Bozsó curated this exhibition of ecclesiastical art, featuring pieces from ethnographic and applied arts. In the past, the ‘holy corner’ of Catholic and peasant residences preserved the innocent charm of religious artifacts brought from pilgrimages. Religious devotion was expressed through Baroque wood sculptures, while pewter vessels were associated with the Reformed faith. A particularly noteworthy item, alongside Greek-Eastern icons, is the boxwood Athos cross from 1544, which is adorned with hundreds of miniature characters.
