The name Gundel has traditionally stood for the appreciation and representation of Hungarian values. After several changes in ownership and tenancy, the restaurant sought a location to safely house and display its art collection. The choice fell on the Bozsó Collection. A selection of works was moved from the restaurant’s walls to the exhibition hall in Kecskemét on loan.
The collection on display reflects the tradition and renewal that often coexisted in 19th- and 20th-century Hungarian art.
Works by Vilmos Aba-Novák, Róbert Berény, Géza Bornemisza, Rezső Burghardt, Frigyes Frank, Aladár Körösfői-Kriesch, Lajos Márk, Károly Markó, Mihály Munkácsy, Dezső Orbán, Csaba Vilmos Perlrott, Géza Pap, and József Rippl-Rónai are featured in the exhibition.
